Last night, The Den held its Annual General Meeting for the year July 2015 to July 2016.
Every year we host our AGM to keep everyone up to date with how The Den is being managed and to celebrate everything we have achieved in the last 12 months. Our members and volunteers created some amazing displays, we enjoyed a presentation and a free buffet.
Despite more constraints on funding and resources, there have been some great achievements for The Den, its members and volunteers over the last year including Woodcraft Camps, Den Art Projects, new Windows, Area Youth Achievement Awards, the introduction of Den Dance and lots more. We are very grateful to all of our funders and supporters including local Councillors, Durham County Council AAP and Sir James Knott Trust as well as to all parents, volunteers and staff that work so hard to keep our charity going.
We took the opportunity at our AGM to wish Elaine Richardson a very happy retirement from her post as Finance Director. Elaine has been Finance Director at The Den since its formation in 2007 – her contribution and knowledge has been amazing and she will be very sorely missed on the Board of Directors. Elaine has been handing over some of her role to Den Administrator Lesley, who will be kindly stepping in to help with our accounts. The AGM also gave us the opportunity to welcome our new Operations Director Peter Bell to the Board as well as welcoming Paddy, our new Youth Worker, and Daniel, our Den Assistant to the team!
