Lesley Pattison - Admin Worker

Lesley has been The Den's admin worker for six years. Lesley cut her teeth at Stanley Youth Centre, providing admin and youth work support. During which time she acquired her Level 3 Business Administration and Level 3 Customer Service qualifications. Lesley's main role involves financial management, payroll and Den bookings.

Kat Rudd - Development coordinator

Kat has a first-class honours degree in Business Management from Teesside University and a Professional graduate certificate in Education. She has previous experience of working with small businesses and sole traders and four years’ experience working within further education. In the previous few years she held the role of Student Union President where she was a member of the board of governors and involved in strategic decision making on the development and direction of the organisation as well as holding main responsibility for advocating for students across all hierarchical levels internally and externally. She’s brand new to The Den and is excited to drive our mission of improving the lives of children and young people. When she's not at The Den, she's usually attending racing events with her family who are all motorsport mad.

Lynsey Kerr - Project Worker

Lynsey has over 15 years of experience of working with children and young people and holds a number of qualifications including a CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education and a Foundation Degree in Children and Young Persons Pathways. Her role at the Den is to oversee our clubs, providing interesting activities and experiences for our young people and supporting the Den assistants and Young Volunteer task force. When she’s not at the Den, Lynsey loves nothing more than visiting National trust sites, walking and camping with her husband and 3 children.

Beth Simmonite - Den Assistant

Beth joined us in June 2021 as our Kickstart Den Assistant as part of the government's scheme to get young people into work. Beth has a range of qualifications in music and the arts. She is keen amateur photographer and singer. For her Den role Beth helps run the youth clubs, coordinates our Young Volunteer Task Force and holds singing workshops at our Sound Hub group.

James Clark - Den Assistant

James started his Den life by joining Woodcraft Folk as a young person in 2013. His first big event was a group visit to Germany to see our friends from the SDJ-Falkon group in Hamm. Since then James has moved up through the groups from young person to young volunteer and is now a Den Assistant. He is responsible for maintenance and compliance and assisting Sound Hub. He works full time for Durham Constabulary as a mechanic. He still volunteers at Woodcraft Folk group nights and attends all of the camps.
