June has been a very busy month here at The Den! We have had so many smiling faces through our door and we can't wait to see you all for our Summer Fun in the Sun Programme.
We celebrated Environmental week, where our members created their very own recycling tree from recycled material, they learnt all about the importance of recycling whilst having fun and getting creative!
Our young people embraced Pride month, and took part in activities relating to pride and even welcomes a lovely lady called Sharon, from Freedom zone, who came along and delivered a session.
We have cooked up a storm with Lee and the Sweet Life, as Lee herself came along to The Den and delivered sessions with our Den Shoots group as well as our Later Group. They cooked up some delicious cheese straws and peanut butter noodle dishes. We all left with full tummies as well as useful skills to take back home.
We took part in world wellbeing week at The Den, where all of our members had a go at some yoga poses delivered by our young volunteers, enjoyed healthy food whilst doing some mindful colouring and outdoor chalks.
Den Download
We have delivered some amazing sessions throughout June at Den Download. These included a visit from our local fire service, where they delivered a FIRE KILLS! session. As well as this we have taken part in C.V writing activities, interview skills and money management skills.
All of our groups have been attended by our young volunteers this month, however all young people aged 10+ are welcome to come along!
