Thanks to Stanley AAP and Fun and Food, here at The Activity Den, we have been able to deliver a range of fantastic activities alongside a healthy meal throughout the Summer Holidays for children and young people in our local community. Read on to find out about what we have been up to this Summer!
We kicked off our Summer with our Tanfield Lea Treasure Hunt. Our mini pirates got suited and booted with their pirate hats and spyglasses. They followed treasure maps which lead them through the treacherous woods where they found loads of loot along the way! X marked the spot back at The Den, where our pirates tucked into a healthy pirates picnic before heading home to rest ready for the next Den Adventure!
Our Wet and Wild Fun day was just that, all our young people made a splash on our giant waterslide. Our young people took part in an amazing safari scavenger hunt and animal crazy golf, before having a slip and slide. Once we had all worked up an appetite, our young people returned to The Den for some Yummy tomato pasta followed by yoghurt and fruit.
Our final Fun and Food event was our Wild West Dino Dig, brought to The Den by the fantastic dinosaur palaeontologist Patrick from Wild West Dino Dig. Our young people had a phenomenal day learning about all things prehistoric. They all had a go at a dino puzzle, played what's in the box and even had a chance to make their own clay dinosaur to take home!
For lunch our group enjoyed a lovely hot lunch of chicken goujons, potatoes broccoli and beans, followed by fruit kebabs, which they made themselves.
