It is with immense gratitude and a touch of sadness that we mark the end of Sarah Grey's tenure as our Chair and Trustee. Serving almost continuously since our founding in 2007, Sarah has been the bedrock of The Activity Den, guiding us with remarkable dedication, expertise, and a clear vision for the community we serve.

Sarah brought a wealth of professional knowledge to her voluntary role, leveraging her academic background and extensive experience across the Northeast:
Deep Sector Knowledge: With a degree and masters in Community and Youth Work from Durham University, Sarah applied her foundational knowledge to ensure our initiatives were always impactful and community-focused.
Strategic Management: Her Level five diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute, combined with her experience as a seasoned bid writer, significantly strengthened our governance and financial stability.
Regional Expertise: Sarah’s professional background, spanning statutory and voluntary sector organisations in Easington, Sunderland, Newcastle, Durham, and Darlington, provided invaluable insight into the diverse needs of our region.
Award-Winning Commitment: Her dedication was formally recognised in 2011 when she was the joint North East Trustee of the Year awards winner – a testament to her outstanding commitment.
